Toby Hayes is a senior at Michigan State studying urban and regional planning with a minor in cities: environment, design and society. His focuses in planning involve sustainable and equitable economic development, multi-modal transportation, urban design, and housing development. He started at the Center for Community and Economic Development in the fall of 2021. There, he works closely with other research assistants and a broad range of faculty around Michigan State to push for the creation of a Circular Economy Institute at MSU, in addition to occasional assistance with CERI projects. These projects blend his passions for sustainability and economic development. In his personal life, Toby is a life-long Michigander and Grand Rapidian who loves traveling, biking, golfing, and is always looking to improve his home state.
