Sean Farnum

Research Assistant, Regional Economic Innovation 

Sean Farnum is a recent graduate from Michigan State University's James Madison College with a B.A. in Social Relations and Policy. Sean has worked as a Research Assistant with CCED for a year, working on numerous research and technical assistance projects. His research catalogue includes CCED's feasibility study on MSU's community investment policy, as well as the portion on tax deductible donations in the center's deconstruction assessment for Michigan. He has also worked with the Michigan Inventors Coalition to provide technical assistance, as well as working with the Inter-Tribal Council and MSU Extension. Currently, he is working on a Circular Economy report and helping prepare and advance the center's work on the MDARD Rural Readiness grant. Sean is passionate about supporting DEI initiatives through housing and small business development and recently completed his honors undergraduate thesis on Lansing's racial homeownership gap and challenges to homeownership.
