Food Is Power! The Lansing Eastside Thinkers & Doers biannual event brought together community members, MSU faculty, and local leaders to explore food systems, food security, and food assistance in Eastside Lansing neighborhoods. Hosted at the MSU Center for Community & Economic Development, the event created space for meaningful dialogue around food justice, access, and community-driven solutions.

Dr. Katherine Alaimo, Associate Professor and Director of Sustainability Agriculture and Food Systems at MSU, and Jerry Norris, CEO & Founder of The Fledge. Together, they shared insights on community-based participatory research, local food systems, and the role of inclusive innovation in strengthening equitable and resilient communities.

The event was free and open to the public, with both in-person and virtual attendance options, and light refreshments provided.
